- NOFA/Mass is a community including farmers, gardeners, landscapers and consumers working to educate members and the general public about the benefits of local organic systems based on complete cycles, natural materials, and minimal waste for the health of individual beings, communities and the living planet. www.nofamass.org
- Gaining Ground grows organic vegetables and fruit with the help of hundreds of community volunteers and donates all of this fresh food to area meal programs and food pantries. Based in historic Concord, Massachusetts, Gaining Ground raises and distributes approximately 20,000 pounds of produce each growing season. www.gainingground.org

- The Organic Consumers Association (OCA) is an online and grassroots non-profit 501(c)3 public interest organization campaigning for health, justice, and sustainability. Composting
- Growing Power is a nonprofit in Milwaukee which involves its diverse community in growing food sustainably in an urban environment. Using red wriggler worms, Growing Power composts more than 100,000 pounds of waste per week. That’s over six million pounds of waste not going into Wisconsin’s and Illinois’ landfills annually.
- Brick Ends Farm in Hamilton, MA creates compost from local restaurant and grocery store waste, yard waste and some horse manure and bedding. Check out this article and video describing their process. Growing for Good often uses this compost in our gardens.
